Before Triple 5 Farms became our daily work, this land carried the life and memory of Catherine and Rutherford Jack Mahan Jr. We did not have the privilege of knowing them personally, but their legacy is part of the story of this farm.
A Legacy Rooted in Faith and Family
Catherine "Granny" Mahan was remembered as a woman of faith, family, and service. She was active at Second Baptist Church in Union City, including choir and children's Sunday School. She loved gardening and music, and those details still shape how we think about the ground we now tend.
Jack shared that same commitment to family and community. Together, they built a life tied to this place.
The Gift They Left Behind
When the Mahan children chose paths away from farming, this land became available. That decision opened the door for us to build Triple 5 Farms. Without that moment, our farm story would be different.
How We Remember Them Here
We remember Catherine and Jack by how we steward this property: with respect, practical care, and gratitude for what came before us. We do not treat this place as disposable ground. We treat it as inherited trust.
Their memory remains part of the rhythm of this farm, and we are thankful for the role they played in making this work possible.
