Livestock Deposit and Reservation Policy
Effective date: March 12, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies when a livestock listing includes deposit, hold, or reservation terms.
2. Platform role
For private-party marketplace listings, deposit and reservation terms are set by the listing owner unless explicitly stated as a Triple 5 direct-sale term.
3. No automatic hold
An inquiry or message is not a reservation. A hold exists only when explicitly confirmed through the relevant seller workflow.
4. Deposit handling
If a deposit is requested:
- amount and timing must be clearly stated;
- payment method and reference requirements must be followed;
- late, partial, or mismatched payment may void reservation status.
5. Refund position
Unless a written listing term states otherwise, deposits may be treated as non-refundable once reservation is confirmed, especially where the animal was held off-market. Sellers remain responsible for clearly disclosing their own deposit terms before acceptance.
6. Buyer inspection and decision timing
Buyers are expected to inspect, ask questions, and verify fit before sending deposit payment. Deposits should not be treated as trial or optional intent payments.
7. Disputes and documentation
Participants should keep dated written records of deposit terms, communications, and transfer arrangements. Triple 5 Farms may review records for moderation and policy enforcement but does not guarantee dispute outcomes.
